Student Universal Support Ireland (SUSI) is Ireland’s single national awarding authority for all higher and further education grants. SUSI offers funding to eligible students in approved full-time third-level education in Ireland. Support is available to all types of students, from school leavers to mature students returning to education. In some cases, SUSI also provides funding for students studying outside the State.  

Applying for a SUSI Grant 

You should apply for your SUSI grant as early as possible to allow for your application to be processed as quickly as possible. To do this, you will need to create a SUSI online account. Please ensure you remember the details used when creating your online account as you will need to access it after making your original application.  

You should make sure that the information you are supplying to SUSI is correct to avoid unnecessary delays with your application. You can apply and track your application online on www.susi.ie. If you are making an application to SUSI, we would recommend you read the relevant documentation available on the www.susi.ie  and on www.studentfinance.ie. 

If you have received a SUSI grant previously, you still need to reapply on an annual basis once you are progressing through your course.
